Shrink the Rink:
Scale the surface to the player's age and
ability…
Have the player's visualize a split in the ice
down the middle to start.
When the puck is along the boards the other
winger should be around the middle line.
As they get older, stronger and more skilled
expand the ice surface.
Less skilled player's will group around the puck.
Slowly work expanding their game. Remember
with less skilled player's… when they are on the
ice it’s them against the other team and their
own team for control of the puck.
